at least at last at once
peace may be with me aswim
in the basin in the rain
peace as they please may pause
savor the stir of my lungs
abody of breath held by
abody of flesh held by
abody of water held by
abody of earth held by this
ebullient bodice of now
sewn as it was by the clouds
cinched as it is by the clay
ripped as it shall be by the
roots steeping such elixir
best drunk through skin submerged
we drown almost we drown so
ever lightly her mulch quilt
drawn to our chins encircles
the diadems of our necks
this splendorous necklace of now
spun as it was by the trees
clasped as it is by the flood
snapped as it shall be by my
rising and shall you peace
remain aswim when i rise
you are free to linger hear
where my breast rises the rain
soothesayer do you say me
at least at last at once
peacemaker do you make me
~ . ~
where else does my home land sing
lullaby among falling flame
holding each note
hushed and sweet until
their voices waver for
a soft breath in before
of course
you catch me
drifting asleep
~ . ~
fine combed curtains slip
whispers to our horizon
sure as blushed sunfall
beams shimmer their weaver
sometimes stray threads
ripple light through the loom
please spill your secrets
onto us wash over us
too close to us to whisper
how hard it rains now
~ . ~
how many breaths of steps and light
blown past now present unflagging
forgiveness wearing proud the sill
for giving the only way through
is through the only way getting
forgotten gives its presence passed
~ . ~
when luck runs liquid
it runs us rush over
makes us lush
with ochre butterflies
flickering portraits of air
drunk on luck’s liquid gone into us
as summer storms pass
our single bed cracks
may i push
with marigold memories
earthbound edges airborne
lifting luck’s chalice to you
~ . ~
oh hello who
hugs first hello so
touches compose
promises primrose
roves my land you
let me be shelter
for your whispers
resemble clover
picked midsummer
oh farewell who
leaps last farewell so
~ . ~
when a tree falls
those beside her enter
natural disaster
as though her fall
pulls from them
the ring that marks
their first season
growing together
and from this gap
absence stings splits
heartwood rings
remembering
the wind that sings
her dappled embraces
free and always brings
silence now
her shadow now sun
warms me somehow
as i hug them
yes i am hugging you
sharing your shudders
from fissures invisible
until my fingertips
trace sap teardrops
seep through you
teach me how it weeps
the ring that marks
your first season
growing without her
and how many more
shall encircle you
over me you string
pearls of amber
catching her sun
~ . ~
all i can say is
just
the horizon is
us
ever peaceful
two bodies touch
all i can feel is
blush
the sun rises in
us
blue turns bluest
orange as much
all i can see is
what
the eyes in yours see
us
that blue keepsake
please it is such
all i can hear is
hmm
the sun flies and it’s
us
hung along hush
the stars dust
all i can know is
love
don’t the names
come and go
of us
~ . ~
as eclipses before prediction
all along, suddenly
this river has been folding
folds in on itself
the river that has been
carries me
as the half smile starts
startles, gently
let me call
after you, that perilous second
to you, that tremulous droplet
trespassing against
where the river bends kiss
themselves dissolved
